OUR 2025 “CELEBRATING EVERYTHING” WALT DISNEY WORLD TRIP: DAY 6 (EPCOT! CELEBRATING MYLES’S 21ST!!!! BRISKET!!!!!)

Hey everyone – welcome to Day 6 of our May / June 2025 trip down to Walt Disney World!

And Day 6! Which means we have reached the halfway point of the trip. Which means we have just as many posts left as we have written.

For me, this is a scary situation given we got home from this trip about 6 weeks ago AND we have about 6 weeks left until we take our next trip. And I def don’t wanna be writing this blog while we are vacationing.

It’s gonna come down to the wire you guys.

Gonna be a stressful 6 weeks.

So we should get on with it, but I wanna remind you guys again that you gotta check out Myles’s vlog. Here’s his Day 6 video:

Day 6 – Let’s go!

Our 2025 “Celebrating Everything” Walt Disney World Trip: Day 6

So right. Day 6.

Day 6 started relatively early, with Nickie up and out of the room to go see the Pittmans at like 6:30AM. Like I said in the last post, the Pittmans (Steph, Mikey, Sophia, and Scarlett) arrived last night while we were all out having dinner at the Boathouse so though we had a few pictures from them, we hadn’t seen them IRL yet. Though we were having breakfast together in a little bit, they were over at Captain Cook’s getting something small for the girls.

And Nickie snapped this pic on her walk over as well. On account of mornings at Disney, I’ll say it again, are the best.

Look, here’s Scarlett having “something small.”

To be fair, we also dug into these situations before breakfast too. These cookies are like legit joining us for the rest of the trip.

They’re honorary Goodreaus, these cookies.

And after they finished up at Captain Cook’s, look who came to visit us in our room. It’s Sophia and Scarlett!!

At this point, it was around 8AM. And we had breakfast reservations at like 9:30 so our visit with Soph and Scar was relatively short-lived as we all had to get up, get showered, and get over to the Great Ceremonial House. Because breakfast today? It was at our resort.

And we were having breakfast with characters y’all.

That’s right – breakfast today was at ‘Ohana. And as you might recall back on Day 3, we had dinner at ‘Ohana our first night at the Polynesian. But today was different.

On account of it was breakfast.

Which is dinner in the morning.

Will it exceed our expectations like the ‘Ohana dinner did?

I dunno, man. This was a while ago at this point. I’m basically finding all this out as I go, just like you.

I’m on the edge of my seat though.

Scarlett was ready.

So I should note – because of the size of our party, we had to split tables. At one table to start, we had Myles, Hannah, Owen, Tony, Larissa, Mia, and me. And at the other table? The Pittmans – Steph, Mikey, Sophia, and Scarlett.

However.

Sophia wanted to sit at our table so I, being the true hero of a man I am, offered to sit over with the Pittmans.

Which, I mean, was obviously delightful.

As with dinner, breakfast at ‘Ohana is served family-style. They started us off with some Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread.

And some fresh fruit.

Both of which were fine. This bread does not hold a candle to the dinner bread at ‘Ohana, but I mean its still carbs. And the fruit was…fruit. What am I? Gonna get all excited about fruit like some hippie?

The main event foodwise, though, is the Breakfast Skillet – Scrambled Eggs, Pork Breakfast Sausage Links, Hawaiian-style Ham topped with Pineapple Compote, Fried Island-style Potatoes, Biscuits…

..and both Mickey AND STITCH waffles.

And you know what’s strange? I was just looking at the ‘Ohana breakfast menu and they only mention Mickey Waffles. I mean, obvs Mickey Waffles are awesome times but Stitch Waffles are unique to ‘Ohana. One would think they would be hyping that shizz up.

Also, I mean, this stuff is magic.

That there is what ‘Ohana calls “Stitch Juice” and the rest of Walt Disney World calls POG (Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava) juice. And it’s just wonderful.

But since we were using a Disney Dining Plan credit on this situation, you know I had to get an alcoholic beverage. And while my usual drink of choice in the morning would always be a Bloody Mary (or a beer, let’s be real), I was vibing with Espresso Martinis this trip so I went with ‘Ohana’s Cold Brew Martini (SelvaRey Chocolate Rum, Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur, and Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew).

And eh. This was ok. Probably the worst espresso martini of the week tho. I think the rum added a bit of meh-ness to it.

The food, and the drinks, are only a piece of the ‘Ohana breakfast experience. Because this, dear readers, is a character meal.

You got Lilo.

You got Stitch.

You got Mickey.

And you got Pluto.

Because this is the Best Friends breakfast, you guys. Which is kind of legit the cutest.

Lilo came out first and visited the other table.

Which used to be my table.

Sigh.

And Soph was in her “warming up to the characters” mode.

These guys though, especially Tony, were all kinds of excited.

Stitch paid a visit to that table next.

And then came the big man himself, Mickey.

And if you’ve been keeping score, you probz noticed that at this point, no characters had visited our table yet. Which I mean – you know – could have been a precarious situation given I was at the table with a 3 year-old watching her older sister meet Lilo, Stitch, and Mickey Mouse.

But truthfully? Scarlett was handling it pretty well.

However, she was still pretty anxious to see some characters.

Her patience though? It paid off. Because look guys – Lilo!

I also gotta give props to Sophia for being kind of a genius. On account of once she saw characters were making their way to our table after visiting their table? She sped right on over to re-see them.

She totally double-dipped.

You saw the characters…

But look – it’s Pluto!!!!

Man, my photography skills were ON POINT today.

It’s fine though because I mean. Mickey has arrived.

I had to snag a selfie with the boss myself.

On account of whenever I see Mickey Mouse, I turn into Randy from A Christmas Story.

And last but not least? Experiment 626.

And yeah, that was ‘Ohana breakfast. It’s good stuff. I mean, the food is pretty standard breakfast-y stuff. Which by no means is a bad thing. Breakfast-y stuff is the most important-y stuff of the day.

But it’s really the characters you come for. I mean, to knock out Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto in one breakfast is a pretty efficient use of time for sure. And that’s what vacations are all about. Efficency.

But enough of this breakfast nonsense. Time to hit the parks.

By 11AM, we were on Monorail Teal (for real), heading to our destination for today.

And by 11:20, we were getting in line to visit the hottest girl at school.

YASSSSS EPCOT!!!!!

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Because while we were in line by around 11:20, we weren’t through the gates until around 11:35. On account of we were behind not one, but two families that seemed ill-prepared to show their tickets by the time they reached the front.

Pro tip? Cast members want to make sure you paid to get in. So like, expect that and plan in advance what you will show them to prove such things. It makes the process go a lot smoother than deciding to figure all of this out when you’re at the front.

We did eventually make it through, though.

She’s a beaut, Clark.

And we weren’t just gonna look at that giant pentakis dodecahedron.

Look it up.

But right. Yah, we weren’t here to just look at this girl.

We were here to ride this girl.

Wait.

Sorry.

That came out creepy.

We were here to ride Spaceship Earth. That’s what I am saying. Is we were going to experience Spaceship Earth. That is what I was saying.

Before we went back in time. Or to the future. Or like, both I think? Before we did that, I quickly met up with a co-worker I knew was also at EPCOT today – Paige.

Which was neato. Because not only is Paige a nice and cool person but she also helped prove to people that I do in fact have a job and maybe to back off when these posts take a little longer than expected to publish.

Funny thing tho – after Paige left, Steph asked who she was and I said, “oh she was just a fan of the blog.” And like, everyone laughed A LOT at that. Which I appreciated at first. But then, I was like wait it’s not that funny someone would actually be a fan.

People read this blog, you guys. My mom reads this blog, ok?

AND she says I am very talented and handsome.

So, I guess I won THAT discussion.

Wait. Where was I?

Oh right Spaceship Earth.

Who’s excited to learn??

And look. Look how handsome Myles and I are gonna be in the future.

Oh right so I should mention. Not only was it Flower & Garden Festival time at EPCOT, but it was also Cool Kid Summer or something like that at Walt Disney World. So they were doing all these fun character experiences all over the parks. Like here at EPCOT? There was this whole GoofyCore thing at CommuniCore Hall.

And like, they had this DJ and the cast members led all the kids in games and what not. And of course – Goofy.

When we were there, they led us all in a freeze dance situation.

Imagine for a second what Larissa looked like dancing if this was the position she had to freeze in.

But I love this stuff, you know? Sure – it’s a silly little dance party or whatever, but it gives kids and their parents something to do when lines are long or the sun is being a jerk. And it doesn’t cost any more money. These kinds of experiences are such a big part of what makes Disney different from other theme parks.

Also? Scarlett spent like five minutes with her hand in the air trying to get a high-five from Goofy.

Like literally just followed him around with her hand in the air. And dude just left her hanging.

It was heartbreaking to watch.

But despite watching a giant dog in a vest crush a little girl’s dreams, it was definitely a nice distraction from the heat. We probably spent like 15 minutes or so in there before heading back out into the non-air-conditioning and over to our next destination.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends, you guys. And look? I shared a shell with Mikey! Our seashell was a we-shell

Our seashell was a we-shell.

Nickie also took a pic of her shell, which was her, Mia, and the top of Sophia’s head.

While we were looking for Nemo, I realized our Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was almost done. Not even coming up, just almost done. On account of Lightning Lane? More like Lightning Lame.

You know, because I am lame at using Lightning Lane.

And don’t worry. You’ll hear about more of my Lightning Lane mishaps in future posts too.

Ha, Lightning Lame. These jokes just write themselves.

But right, that whole Guardians of the Galaxy situation kind of distracted me a little bit while we were in our shell there.

I mean, I don’t even know if we ended up finding Nemo by the end of the thing. Anyone know?

Once we disembarked, those of us with Guardians Lightning Lanes booked it over and were there around 1:00, I believe like 5 minutes or so after our Lightning Lane had officially expired.

I was sweating, man. SO nervous I blew the whole thing and they wouldn’t let us on. Would everyone be mad at me? Would we be friends after this? How would I make this up to….

Oh.

It’s fine? We can just walk right in, Mr. Cast Member?

Cool.

Pfft, I knew it wasn’t a big deal. I don’t know what you all were freaking out about.

You know who wasn’t freaking out? Sophia and Scarlett.

They were enjoying some Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars whilst we were heading into space to stop whatever it is that we are stopping on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Sorry – the story on this one is a little convoluted for me.

Let’s go save the galaxy. Or whatever.

We were ready!!

Such a fun attraction though. And yeah, I know what you’re wondering. What song did we get, right? Because it feels like we have gotten “Conga” every time. Which is obvs fine. Total Gloria Este-fanatic here.

But this time? We got “September”. Which is like….maybe the 2nd best option right behind “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”?

The post-Guardians plan was to meet up at the Land Pavillion for our next attraction. And like I mentioned earlier, it was Flower & Garden Festival time at EPCOT. Which for sure means food booths and what not. But it also means topiaries. Like this dude.

We were at the Land Pavilion at around 1:45.

And like, here’s what we were doing y’all.

Aw yeah. Soarin’ Around the World.

It was Sophia’s first time!

And I got to sit next to her!!

She loved it, btw. In fact, when it ended she immediately wanted to go again. Such a hard Disney lesson to learn – the inability to do a go-again. An unfortunate rite of passage.

I saw her leave a little bit of her childhood on that hang glider.

It was 2:30 you guys. And we just legit flew around the world. So we were hungry.

Thankfully, the quick-service restaurant – Sunshine Seasons – was right outside when we exited the attraction.

Now, that’s a sight for Soarin’ eyes.

The way Sunshine Seasons works is they have these different stations serving different kinds of foods and cuisines – you know, like a grill station, pizza, Mexican, that sort of thing. I ended up going with the Stir-fried Chicken (Stir-fried Chicken with Teriyaki Chicken, Peppers, Onions, Pineapple, and a Tangy Sweet-and-Sour Sauce) over Rice.

And a Bud Light. Obvs.

It was good stuff, man. Especially for a quick-service situation.

After we finished lunch, it was time to head over to the World Showcase. Part of the plan today was to try and get a drinking around the world situation to celebrate Myles being 21 (his birthday was in February).

Now, mind you – if you remember from the last post we had A LOT of fun the night before. So we were a tad hungover. Especially Tony.

And it was hot.

Especially Tony.

So drinking around the world was gonna be a tough ask. But we were prepared to give it the old drunkard’s try.

Let’s head over to World Showcase.

The park was looking hella-pretty today.

Like any sane person, we were starting our World Showcase adventure in Mexico. And on the way over, I stopped off at one of the new Flower & Garden food booths for 2025 – Yacht Grub – to get a snack I had on my list coming in.

Behold. The Trio of Chips and Dip (Caramelized onion dip with CAVIAR, whipped feta dip, and pimento cheese with house-made potato chips).

Which was soooooo good. All three dips were great though if I had to choose one, I’d go with that caramelized onion / caviar bit of wonderful. Caviar, you guys.

And the chips were all kinds of great.

To Mexico!

Walking into the Mexico Pavilion on a hot day is the best. That air conditioning like smacks you in the face and yells at you like “OHAI I AM AIR CONDITIONING”.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it’s like infinitely night time in here. Psychologically, it just feels cooler in there. This pavilion is def the top pavilion in all of World Showcase. No cap.

Did I use that right?

No cap?

Am I sus?

And one of the reasons this pavilion is the best? La Cava del Tequila!

Anyone who has been to La Cava ever before knows there is usually a line and today was no different. But it wasn’t too terrible. We waited probably like 10 minutes or so before we were let in and made our way right up to the bar.

A bunch of us ordered up some Avocado Margaritas (made with Dos Hombres mezcal, melon-orange liqueur, fresh avocado, lime juice, and a hibiscus salt rim).

Including Myles who, according to his glasses, was finally 21.

But yeah, the Avocado Marg is def the way to go here. Myles was a bit hesitant thinking it would taste like drinking guacamole. But after his first sip, he was all “Avocad-OH that’s pretty good.”

OK fine, he didn’t say that. I guess a proclivity towards punning isn’t genetic. But he did like it.

At this point, Nickie and Larissa decided to head out for a little bit to try and get over to Disney Springs. On account of Nickie bought a hat at the Lilly Pulitzer store last night and left it at the Boathouse.

I really want to emphasize the word try here. They were going to try to get over to Disney Springs.

Try.

We will miss you Nickie and Larissa. Hurry back.

Now, lest ye believe the Mexico Pavilion is only tequila and air conditioning…

Ha, “only” – tequila and air conditioning is like some sort of dream I once had.

But yeah, the Mexico Pavilion also has an attraction – Gran Fiesta Tour!

I love me a Disney boat ride, you guys. Let’s get that Donald.

Got em.

I kind of love the souvenir Sophia chose to buy in Mexico. Look at this girl.

Next stop? Norway. We made straight for Kringle Bakeri Og Café.

To get the Viking Coffee (a combination of Bailey’s Irish Crème, Kamora Coffee Liquor and coffee, drizzled with a Coffee-Chocolate Sauce and topped with Coffee-Chocolate Crunchies).

It’s a solid drink – though obvs different, it’s like mudslide-adjacent. Which is fine. I’m not like the hugest mudslide guy. They’re fine and all, but I would typically choose a more alcohol-y alcohol drink.

Also? The Viking Coffee was…

Frozen.

It was frozen.

Whatever. Time to move on to China.

Our first stop in China was their Flower & Garden Booth – Lan Yuan.

And we kind of got all the food there. We ordered the House-Made Cheesy Crab Wontons (Fried wontons filled with cream cheese, celery, and imitation crab stick drizzled with plum-chili sauce) and Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings filled with bok choy, carrot, shiitake mushroom, ginger, garlic, and sesame.

Both were obviously good. On account of most didn’t make it to the picture.

And Tony got the Satay Beef Bao Bun filled with pan-fried beef, red onion, and jalapeño in Chinese satay peanut sauce.

Which he said he liked a lot as well. Had a good amount of spice, like in a good way.

And China ended up being a two-booth stop as we also stopped over at Joy of Tea, their year-round food kiosk thing. Since, I mean, did you really visit the China Pavilion if you didn’t get egg rolls and a Tipsy Ducks in Love?

Ah Tipsy Ducks in Love. This right here is my kind of drink. Made with Bourbon (LOTS of bourbon), Black Tea, Coffee, Cream and Chocolate, this is a big contender for my favorite drink at EPCOT.

Plus, I mean. This view.

Sophia was chillin. Giving ambiance.

Three down.

Let’s get to Germany!

In Germany, we did a water round. And by “water” I mean “beer”.

Myles opted for a Schofferhofer Grapefruit Beer draft.

While I went for a Beck’s.

Since I think eating anything grapefruit-flavored tastes like you threw up a little in your mouth. Facts.

We also ordered a giant pretzel to share, of which I have a picture of it. In the bag.

So I am sure that picture is super helpful in that it gives you a very clear idea of what to expect when you get a pretzel at the Germany Pavilion.

It comes in a bag. You’re welcome.

I am the best blogger.

It was a good pretzel tho. Jussayin.

Honestly? We probably spent like 20 minutes just kind of hanging out at that fountain there. Eating pretzels. Drinking beer. I mean, you guys, It was like real-feel 95 degrees and Florida humid today. It was hot AF. Is what I am saying to you now.

So a beer and pretzel respite was much needed.

I should also mention this was where we found out Nickie and Larissa? They never made it to Disney Springs. They made it as far as the Martha’s Vineyard Lounge at Disney’s Beach Club.

For those unfamiliar with the location of the Martha’s Vineyard Lounge at Disney’s Beach Club is a 6-minute walk from EPCOT.

Legit evil geniuses, Nickie and Larissa.

But yeah, we found this out because Nickie and Larissa were at this point heading back to the park.

And quick time check – it was around 6PM at this point.

Nickie snapped this one on her way back.

We made plans to meet them over at the American Adventure. Which meant we had to leave our fountain. Thankfully, we had Sophia to provide us with some ‘walking around’ music.

Ha, I kind of love that picture.

My bad blogging btw? It didn’t stop at pretzels. I also suck at taking pictures of people. Because at Germany? We met back up with our friends John and Renee. And I have no pictures of them.

Also today at the American Adventure? We met up with our Florida friends, Missy and her daughter Olivia. And I have no pictures of them.

I am literally the worst. Especially given how much fun we had with all four of those people today. So John, Renee, Missy, and Olivia – know that I love you guys and I know I am terrible at taking pictures. BUT – I loved hanging out with you today and fully understand if you don’t wanna be friends with me anymore.

I feel shame.

We were at the American Adventure by like 6PM.

We met up with Nickie and Larissa and went on into the main building to catch a show I personally love – the American Adventure.

I don’t know, man. I love this show.

It’s got some pretty nice animatronics and all these clips of like Americans doing American things. Plus the song that accompanies the show, Golden Dream, is a legit banger.

If only there were clips of Kid Rock shooting cases of Bud Light. That would really encapsulate today’s American experience.

Such a current reference, Wayne.

Thank you, Wayne.

And even if you don’t love the show? You could take the opportunity to sneak in a quick nap.

Like Nickie and Tony did.

It’s CRAZY how much they hate America. They’re definitely not like Kid Rock shooting cases of Bud Light.

When we got back outside, it was legit POURING out. It was like build-an-ark raining out so we ran over – very quickly – to Regal Eagle Smokehouse, which was right next door thankfully.

Renee, John, Missy, and Olivia were already there. And Renee and John had asked while we were in the American Adventure if any of us needed a drink and they grabbed Myles a Moonshine Sour (which I believe ended up being his favorite drink of the day) and me a Sam Adams.

Regal Eagle is not only a place where you can get pretty solid barbecue. It’s also a Muppets-themed restaurant. Specifically, the eagle being referenced in the name is Sam the Eagle. And there are little Muppets-themed nods throughout the restaurant.

Oddly, if you visit the link above to check out the restaurant and menu, there is no mention whatsoever of the Muppets anywhere. Like, Disney has such a weird relationship with the Muppets. They sort of just exist (now that MuppetVision 3D is gone – more on that in the next post) in like weird little bits and bobs throughout Walt Disney World. And yeah, I include their overlay of Rock N’ Roller Coaster as a weird little bit and bob.

I am just saying, Disney. Muppets deserve representation guys. Their absence? It’s felt.

Get it? Felt?

Because puppets.

For dinner, most of us got the Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich (House-smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich on Garlic Toast served) with a side of mac and cheese.

And man, this thing was goooood. The meat was so tender and flavorful and that garlic toast was amazepantz. Plus, the macaroni and cheese was legit stuff going on there.

I also ordered some Banana Pudding for dessert, which was real good as well.

I sat across from Sophia and Scarlett.

And during the meal, Sophia treated us to her impressions of all of us.

Her impressions of both Tony and Larissa were legit uncanny. Modern-day Rich Little, that kid.

It was a nice time at Regal Eagle tho. We had a nice long table and spent about an hour eating, drinking, and laughing while staying dry. We ended up leaving at around 8:20. The rain had stopped and it was turning into a beautiful evening at EPCOT.

We had one more Lightning Lane left for the night, which brought us back to Norway.

That’s right. Maelstrom. Frozen Ever After!

I mean, yeah of course from a nostalgia perspective, I miss me some Maelstrom. But if we are being honest with ourselves, this is definitely an upgrade of a ride. Creepy, nightmare-inducing facial projections aside, I really do dig Frozen Ever After. It’s a Disney boat ride you guys. Of course I dig it.

Also this picture. Look at Sophia in this picture.

Plus, there was a moment on here where our entire boat was belting out “Let it go” along with Elsa. I like any ride where I can scream Disney songs and not get weird looks.

And you know what was AwesomeTown, Population: me? We exited the ride just as the EPCOT nighttime spectacular Luminous: The Symphony of Us was about to begin. We walked right out to the lagoon in Norway and had a great view of the show.

Cue fireworks dump.

I honestly love this show. I mean, Illuminations (the pinnacle of EPCOT fireworks) may never be topped but this one is great stuff. I love the music and the whole theme of connectedness and all that. Plus, EPCOT fireworks just hit different since they have the whole lagoon setting and the water features and all that. I love it.

Plus, while leaving Magic Kingdom after their fireworks can be a bit of WTF due to the crowds, I feel like EPCOT just never feels like that. The end-of-the-night exit out of EPCOT has much more of a “stroll” feel to it. This is due in large part to the fact that EPCOT has so many viewing locations for their fireworks that we aren’t just crammed into one location like the hub at Magic Kingdom. But also its just the vibe of EPCOT – the music, walking past the countries, I dunno.

Leaving EPCOT at night > Leaving Magic Kingdom at night. Bottom line.

It’s also crazy we lived in a time when they didn’t have lights on Spaceship Earth. Because it’s hard to even imagine what that looked like.

Outside the gate, we said our goodbyes to Renee, John, Missy, and Olivia since we wouldn’t be seeing them the rest of the trip. Which was womp-town but we had so much fun hanging out with them! Thanks guys!

The rest of us headed on to the Monorail.

We hopped off at the Ticket & Transportation center and we were back at the Polynesian by like 10:15.

And that’s kind of it you guys. Did we drink our way completely around the world? No, but I mean…

And we still have another day at EPCOT coming up later in the trip so I mean, I think we may have some more drinks that day.

Maybe.

But yeah, a great Day 6 right? And there’s literally still 6 days left you guys!

See you all in the next post!

Last post – Day 5!

Next post – Day 7!!
