OK I finally got the rest of the Goodys to sit down and talk a little Disney dining with me. Well, actually Myles stood and Nickie cut Owen’s hair but it was probably the best I was going to get. Maybe next time, I will just give my top 5 and if they want to add theirs they can just let me know.
For those that don’t remember, I already gave my Top 5 Sit-Down Disney Restaurants here and promised to get the top fives for the rest of the clan. Now, they do not go into as much detail as me on the reasons why but that’s probably because, well, I LOVE to pontificate. That’s what they used to call me in high school. Ol’ Pontificaty.
Alright so each of them is giving me their Top 5 and a quote explaining why each choice is a favorite. And as with the other post, each of the restaurant’s names links to their menu. OK Goodys…let’s go.
We will start with Nickie (aka Mommy).
Nickie’s Top 5 Table-Service Dinners
“Because of the view and the food.”
“Watching Illuminations from the patio. Plus, the Cottage Pie and the Sticky Toffee Pudding.”
“I love the view, the drinks, the food, the entertainment for the kids.”
“For their steaks and their service.”
“The Naan. The service. And the view of the animals in the floor-to-ceiling windows. Sitting, eating your food on the savanna with zebras and giraffes is pretty amazing.”
Myles’ Top 5 Table-Service Dinners
“As far as I remember, it’s one of the first restaurants I remember going to.”
“The first place I had a Coke. And I liked the chocolate puzzle dessert.”
“The coconut races and I like the steak.”
“I like the Build-A-Dino and the animatronics are awesome.”
Captain’s Grille (but specifically for Thanksgiving)
“The desserts and all the choices were awesome.”
Owen’s Top 5 Table-Service Dinners
“I like seeing Mickey and Dale and Chip and Dale and Chip and Pluto. And…the food’s ok.”
“I like coconut races.”
“Winnie-the-Pooh. Yep. And the buffet. I like the buffet.”
“It’s cool. Candy sushi.”
“Because I like Mickey and I like the food.”
So as you can see, we all have some different choices here but we also often agree. Ohana, for example, is on all our lists. And we also see mentions of some others such as Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Chef Mickey’s and Sanaa across a couple lists. And honestly, you really can’t go wrong with any of these.
So yeah, Food is good.
