Ok brace yourselves. First actual Disney post. I know. Much excitement.
We woke up this morning at like 6AM. And for breakfast we had the muffins I got last night at Mimi’s. They were delicious
The coffee though. We brought our own french vanilla creamers and coffee pods to use in the room. However, the cream seems to have turned. I took a sip of the coffee and it literally tasted like vomit. Like it’s hours later now and I’m still reeling from it.
Thankfully the room had some powdered creamer so I made Nickie and I a couple of cups using that and all was good.
And we were off to California Adventure!! And I get to wear one of these..
After a short 8 minute walk, we were thurr….
We got there like an hour before park open and they let us in the park about a half hour before open to go wait to be let in at park open. Everybody got that?
But yeah, Owen and I went to wait in line to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout while Nickie and Myles went to score FastPasses for Radiator Springs Racers.
And Guardians? It. Was. Awesome.
I have always claimed Tower of Terror to be my favorite ride at Walt Disney World and I think I liked this even more. The story was good, the music was super cool and the drops were totes droppy.
Some more pics from the ride.
Then we met Myles and Nickie at Soarin’ Around the World.
And this was our first time riding Soarin’ since it became “around the world” and I dug it. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the original but this was pretty cool.
After Soarin’, Myles, Owen and I rode Grizzly River Rapids. It was definitely longer and more white water than Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom but none of us walked off as soaked as we do on that one.

After Grizzly, all four of us rode Monsters Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue…
Flik’s Flyers…
And those Tuck and Roll bumper car things. Then I grabbed the tickets and ran over to Paradise Pier to grab fast passes for Toy Story Mania.
While there I snapped a few cool pics of the pier. It’s so pretty there.
So the standby wait was like 60 minutes for Toy Story but when I got the FastPasses, the window to use them started in like ten which meant I could get another FastPass. I knew Owen wanted to ride California Screamin’ so I grabbed a couple for that one. So we now had one for Radiator Springs Racers, Toy Story Mania and California Screamin’. Stack those passes yo.
Afterwards, I made it back to Cars Land and we rode Radiator Springs Racers. SUCH A GOOD RIDE.
And Cars Land is cool.
After that, we made our way back over to the pier to ride Toy Story Mania. I got the highest score out of the four of us. But I mean. NBD.
Then the plan was to grab lunch at Ariel’s Grotto. We had an 11:30 reservation and everything. But they only had outdoor seating and did I mention it was hot?
So we just cancelled it and Owen and I went and used our FastPass for California Screamin. Owen has deemed it his favorite roller coaster ever.
While we rode that, Nickie and Myles played some midway games and Nickie won two Timothy Mouse stuffed animals. She’s legit the best at those games where you shoot water into mouths.
The best.
Time for lunch. Nickie and Owen got a couple hot dogs but Myles and I grabbed these babies at the Cozy Cone…
Soooooo good.
And while Nickie and Owen’s lunch wasn’t particularly exciting, it did come with this…
Then we came back and had some pool and cocktails time. I mean rest time. What did I say? Cocktails?
And around 4ish it was back to the park.
We jumped right on the Little Mermaid…
And we also stopped in at Tough to Be a Bug. Then it was off to dinner. But on the way? Fun pics.
Dinner tonight was at Carthay Circle. Place was beauteous.
We got the World of Color package so our choices were…
And I mean. Manhattan. Of course
Nickie and I both started with the salad sans anchovies cuz yuck.
The boys started with the tomato broth.
For an entree I got the rib-eye.
Nickie got the short ribs.
Owen got the tacos.
And Myles got the petit filet.
Also dessert…
And of course Owen got another special birthday dessert.
We all liked dinner but agreed we preferred Napa Rose the other night.
After dinner the boys wanted to get these “angry little pudding cups” Myles has been obsessing over. I must say though….they did look pretty good.
And then if was off to World of Color. Our package got us a pretty good viewing spot.
Overall, relatively good day but we are exhausted….time to rest up for Disneyland tomorrow.
