GETTING READY FOR DISNEY WORLD 2016!!11 – PART 5 (Day 6)

So I know what you all have been thinking. “Dude been here 5 days, staying at the Polynesian Village and he STILL hasn’t been to the Magic Kingdom? Dude cray.” Well, fear not for today is the day of when your fears will be calmed.

Because it’s Magic Kingdom day. Hurr durr.

Just to catch you up, you can check out Day 5 here, but yeah this day is chock full of people, attractions, food, characters and of course magic.

I know Harry. I know.

So this morning I am sure we all be like, “oh déjà vu” or “hey, weren’t we just here?” or other statements disguised as jokes as we all wake up and head down to O’hana for breakfast. Now I know some of us will be here for this and some of us won’t. But honestly, Nickie didn’t add me to this reservation on My Disney Experience so I am in the dark on who is attending. I am gonna go out on a limb and say it will be like 13 of us. Maybe 14. Those of you that are going – it’s amazing and you are going to love it. Those that aren’t – don’t worry, you’re not missing much.

OK, fine. I love this breakfast. It’s served family-style which means they bring it to my table AND it’s all-you-can-eat. It’s great because it’s like a buffet without the exercise. Pretty standard fare here – eggs, bacon, sausage, et cetera. But the big draw food-wise are the Mickey waffles (obvs) and the kids literally GO INSANE for the juice here. They’re regular juice-heads.

Wait…that didn’t come out right.

Bring this to me.

And this meal also has CHARACTERZZZZ. We get to dine with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. All Hawaiian’ed out. In my opinion, this is one of the best character experiences we do at Disney. These four are usually really fun and spend a good amount of time at your table. And look, I love me some Pluto but Stitch is the best here. Check him out here from 2013 with the boys…

Stitch. Cute AND deadly. Like a raccoon.

The best, Jerry. The best.

After breakfast, we will jump on the monorail and head over to the Magic Kingdom. Ugh, FINALLY! We have some good fastpasses set up for the morning – Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs for some/Little Mermaid for others and Big Thunder for some/Magic Carpets for others. Yeah some people are scared of thunder. And little people.

The plan though…is to hit the park by rope drop and book it over to Space Mountain to start the day. And beyond these, the expectation is that we will hit other rides obvs squad. I mean, I don’t know how long I can wait to get on that PeopleMover. So yeah…lots of rides and way too much fun to be had before noon.

Then, a little after noon, 13 of us will head over to Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary for MORE CHARACTERS. Yup, lunch with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald. And we have never had lunch here before. Well, actually it’s a brunch buffet. With like…a lot of stuff. Check out that link if you wanna know. But one thing…I do hope these babies are still there for lunch…

Yeah, hi. OK you’re delicious.

After lunch, we will have to head right back to the hotel that day and get attractive. Well more attractive. I know…doesn’t seem possible. And it probably isn’t. But we have to give it our best shot as we have a professional photo shoot that day down on the beach. With like, everybody. We will get some group shots for sure and also every family will be able to get some individual shots. Should be some great pictures. On account of I will be in them.

After the photo shoot, we will jump on the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom and grab a boat to Fort Wilderness. Because we haz dinner at Hoop Dee Doo. For those that don’t know, Hoop Dee Doo is a dinner show. Kind of a mix between a hoedown and a vaudeville act with a ton of audience participation. Oh and it’s like all you can eat fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, corn bread et cetera et cetera. AND it’s all you can drink beer, wine and sangria. So I mean. That could really go either way. Plus strawberry shortcake.

Nope, not that one.

That’s the ticket.

And there are gonna be A LOT of us there which should make this one extra fun. In addition to everyone that I have already mentioned, we may run into our friends (and cousins) Robyn and Terry and their family, plus my Aunt Dotty and Terry’s mom, Susan. Maybe. They are doing the earlier show so not 100% but fingers crossed.

And after dinner, lest you think the night is over…hell to the no!

Because Magic Kingdom has Extra Magic Hours until 1:00 AM!!!! Now, full disclosure I don’t think we will end up staying at the park until 1AM but we are definitely gonna head back to the park for some late-night happy fun times. And being at the Polynesian, we feel like this is at least our best chance of taking the best advantage of it as we can just jump on the monorail to get back home. Yup, I said “home.”

I definitely want to try and do some great nighttime rides like Big Thunder (again), Jungle Cruise, Dumbo…but we will kind of just have to wait and see what happens and how the crowds are. And eh, maybe I will need one of these to get me through the night…

Proof that frosting is the best part.

Oh and some of this…

popcorn.jpg
How is it possible that popcorn tastes so much better at Disney World?

And maybe one of these…again, just purely for sustenance.

Ice cream. Chocolate. And shaped like Mickey. If you asked God what the most awesome thing is, this would probably be a contender.

Oh I’m sorry. Did I forget to mention I plan on being a big fatso? My bad.

So yeah, this day? Pretty amazing. All-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, all-you-can-laugh and all-you-can-love. Seriously. I CANNOT WAIT.
